What is this?

Rowing Polls is a comprehensive aggregator for collegiate rowing rankings. We bring together CRCA, ACRA, and IRCA poll data in one place so fans, athletes, and coaches can compare rankings across sources, genders, and divisions without hunting across multiple websites.

Data Sources

CRCA Pocock Coaches Poll
The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association poll, covering Division I, II, and III women's programs. Rankings are collected from crcarow.org each week.
ACRA / Row2k
The American Collegiate Rowing Association poll and related rankings, hosted by Row2k. Covers men's and women's programs across multiple conferences. Updated weekly from the official Row2k poll listings.
IRCA/IRA Coaches Poll
The Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association poll covers men's programs. IRCA rankings are collected from Row2k, which hosts them alongside ACRA and other collegiate polls. When a weekly release is not yet available on Row2k, it may be entered manually from the official release at ircacoaches.org; manually entered polls are marked as such on their detail page.

Methodology

  • Team name normalization: Team names vary across sources ("University of Washington," "Washington," "UW"). We normalize raw names against a canonical team database using fuzzy matching and manual review. The original raw name is always preserved so data can be re-normalized if needed.
  • Point system: Standard coaches poll format — 1st place = 25 points, 2nd = 24 points, ..., 25th = 1 point.
  • Cached data: All rankings are stored in our database and served from there. This keeps the site fast and avoids placing unnecessary load on source websites.

Community Poll

Registered users can submit weekly ballots using the same weighted-point format as official coaches polls. Rank 1–25 teams (minimum 10 required). One ballot per user per poll period, enforced at the database level. Community results are updated every 5 minutes during active voting.
